Story
Welcome to the fundraising page for team Stomp Out Blood Cancer!
We're taking part in Stadium Stomp 2017 to help stomp out some pretty alarming statistics:
- There are currently 60,000 Australians living with a blood cancer like leukaemia, myeloma or lymphoma.
- It can occur in anyone, at any age, at any time.. and the equivalent of 1 person is newly diagnosed every 41 minutes.
- Blood cancers claim more lives than breast cancer and melanoma.. and sadly an Australian loses their life to the disease every two hours.
That's why we've signed up for this crazy challenge - taking on Adelaide Oval's grandstands, all 6300 stairs, which are the steepest in Australia!
We've got an amazing team on board and we'll all be tackling this event together on Sunday July 9.
I would love if you could support our efforts by making a donation towards this page, to raise much needed funds for the Leukaemia Foundation. They provide so much support to families - particularly from regional areas including the South East, where I'm from, and every dollar will go towards the Patient Village in lightsview.
Since December 2013, the village has provided more than 14,000 free nights of accomodation to these families, all free of charge.
It's also home to a fleet of volunteer-driven transport services, which takes patients to and from their treatment. Since 2005 they've taken nearly 30,000 patients on more than 74,000 trips - they've covered more than 2,269,800 kilometres, which is almost the equivalent of travelling 57 TIMES AROUND THE WORLD!

The Leukaemia Foundation of Australia
The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with blood cancers ( leukaemia , lymphoma, myeloma) and related blood disorders.
The Leukaemia Foundation supports patients and their families by providing services at no cost to the patient. Our services include providing disease specific information, emotional support and advocacy, financial assistance, educational programs to help people live with their disease, safe transport to and from treatments and access to fully furnished 'home away from home' accommodation for regional families.
Millions of dollars are also invested annually to Australia’s leading researchers to develop better treatments and eventually a cure.
The Leukaemia Foundation receives no ongoing government funding and relies on money raised from the community to continue to support patients and their families affected by leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma or related blood disorder.
